Following the success of the partnership with James Jean for the Year of the Wood Dragon, this year we see James Jean’s stunning portrayal of the Year of the Snake for the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Lunar New Year 2025 limited edition design. Regarded by many as the most enigmatic of all Zodiac animals, the snake is renowned for the ability to renew itself. Reimagined by Jean, three snakes representing three attributes of wisdom, intelligence, and intuition, are surrounded by blooming flowers, shedding their skins to embrace the next chapter in life.

The vivid design for the Year of the Snake features an innovative and dynamic interpretation of 2025’s Zodiac animal, symbolising an auspicious ambition for constant progression and self-reinvention,

reflecting the values at the heart of Johnnie Walker. This limited-edition design pays homage to the traditions of Lunar New Year but adds a future-facing design twist.

Aged for at least 21 years, John Walker & Sons XR 21 includes extra rare casks from distilleries no longer in production. Created in honour of Sir Alexander Walker’s

British knighthood, awarded to him in 1920. Inspired by Sir Alexander Walker’s original blending notes, which demonstrate an unrivalled understanding of flavour and craft.

Using an extremely rare three-stage-blending method, the creation of John Walker & Sons XR 21 whisky requires unparalleled dedication from the most-skilled craftsmen. It has a subtle note of spiced vanilla, a sweet hint of golden honey & an exceptionally smooth finish.
