Each Grand Vintage is unique, expressing Moët & Chandon’s Cellar Master's personal interpretation of the year. Grand Vintage 2016 is the story of a turbulent year full of twists and turns where we have faced the whims of nature.
The grape harvest of 2016 in Champagne reflects the region's traditional unpredictability, with a mild, wet winter and a cool, rainy spring causing frost and mildew, significantly reducing the yield. This tale of sublimation begins with a resolution: Grand Vintage 2016 expresses grace and peace, emerging from a turbulent harvest year after six years of maturation. It is a story of serenity after the storm.
HOW TO ENJOY
HOW TO ENJOY
Nose: The fruitiness is immediately perceptible: stewed red fruits, slightly crushed strawberries, raspberries, and late-summer blueberries. Enhanced by delicate, colorful floral aromas: rose, hibiscus, violet. Nuances of gingerbread and chocolate powder.
Palate: the palate is immediately pleasant, tender, supple and harmonious. The fruit is fresher than on the nose, with perfectly ripe raspberries. The initial light structure gradually softens, leaving a sensation of sweetness. The slightly astringent finish is airy, like evening silk chiffon.
